Support SHU Swimming and Diving!
As member's of the Sacred Heart University Swimming and Diving team we are participating in this year’s Annual Friends and Family Campaign to raise critical funds in support our program. Our team goal is to raise $5,000.
As we conclude our season we are proud of the accomplishments we have made in and out of the pool including having the 22nd highest GPA amongst all Swimming and Diving programs in the country. Additionally, for the first time in school history we were undefeated at home. We captured 11 school records, 4 pool records, and had 2- All NEC Team Members. Your generous support will allow us to purchase new equipment, such as trampolines for our divers and subsidies the cost of our annual training trip to Florida. This includes hotel and transportation. The athletics department raised more than $100,000 last year during this campaign that helped more than 850 student-athletes across all 32 varsity teams.
Additionally, we are proud to share that our fellow Pioneer student-athletes earned 33 First-Team All-Conference honors during last academic year. Continued academic success, with a department wide GPA of 3.34, was highlighted by Emily Orosco earning CoSida Academic All-America and Abigail Hood and Joseph Choiniere earning the NEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award. Together we contributed nearly 9,000 hours of community service, and had a runner-up finish in the NEC Building Communities Award – an honor the Pioneers have won six of the past eight years the award has been presented.
We are truly honored to represent this remarkable institution and have high expectations for the future of our program. On behalf of our student-athletes, coaches, and administrators here at Sacred Heart University, thank you so much for your generosity and continued support of SHU Swimming and Diving!
