On January 3rd sixty-four members of the Sacred Heart Band will board a plane headed to SHU’s Dingle, Ireland campus for the first time since the 2016 trip. These biennial international tours have shaped experiences and memories cemented in SHU Band lore. It’s hard to believe that the SHU Band is now in its 26th year.
During this winter tour, the Band is excited to perform for audiences in Dingle, Galway and Dublin and take in a wonderful cultural immersion along the way.
The students have found a way to fund their travel and accommodations for this once-in-a-lifetime experience, but are hoping for a little help from alumni, family and friends of the program to look the professional part when they perform. The Band is hoping to purchase alternate uniform tops embroidered with the Band & Orchestra logo.
Each shirt costs $24, so the band will need to raise $1,536 by December 18 in order to commit to the order.
We invite you to consider sponsoring the uniform purchase for one of our Band students or perhaps your circumstances allow you to do a little more or a little less. Every donation is greatly appreciated and corporate matching gifts are welcomed.
