HELP BERNADETTE BOYLE CROSS THE FINISH LINE TO SUPPORT SHU STUDENTS

On Monday, April 16, Bernadette Boyle, assistant professor of mathematics, will pin on her 2018 Boston Marathon bib and run 26.2 miles to raise crucial funds for Sacred Heart University scholarship programs. Selected from a random drawing of several Sacred Heart student, faculty and staff applicants, Bernadette is a veteran half-marathoner and a competitive runner since high school. She was a member of the nationally ranked cross-country and track teams at Providence College, and continues a collegiate running affiliation as the faculty mentor to the SHU Cross Country and Track teams. As Bernadette ramps up her training, we are rallying a community of supporters that will make gifts in support of SHU students who benefit from these scholarship programs.

Participation by Sacred Heart in the Boston Marathon has been made possible through the generosity of John Hancock with the endorsement of SHU alumnus Todd Cassler ’01, president of Financial Institutions and Advisory Solutions, John Hancock Investments and member of the Welch College of Business Board of Visitors. John Hancock has been a landmark sponsor of this legendary race for 33 years, and its involvement has provided numerous non-profit organizations like Sacred Heart incredible platforms to generate visibility and fundraise for their organizations.

Please join the team and help Bernadette cross the finish line for SHU students.
