Sacred Heart is exceptional in the way our undergraduates work with faculty mentors on research projects that make an original and substantial contribution to a discipline. Recent projects include studies of how scientific literacy is affected by how much a country invests in research and development, water and health in Guatemala, and pollution and infant mortality.
In addition to presenting their research at the annual Academic Festival held at Sacred Heart every April, student projects are also published in our e-journal, the Sacred Heart University Scholar. Your contribution will be used to help provide competitive grants for SHU juniors looking to complete a research project in their senior year.
COMMITTEE FOR UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH
The Committee for Undergraduate Research, which is comprised of faculty members from across the University, works with faculty to establish and share best practices related to student scholarship, encourages conference participation and publication, and serves as an advocacy body on campus. Sacred Heart is a member of the National Council on Undergraduate Research.
